Corsair today announced the launch of the new Corsair Professional Series HX850W and HX750W modular power supply units. The Corsair Professional Series HX850W and HX750W PSUs both include powerful, single +12V rails and are qualified to deliver their full rated power output at an ambient temperature of 50°C. The press release doesnt mention pricing, but we have contacted Corsair to find out.

HP Z220 Workstations

HP has announced some new additions to their workstation lineup.  First up is an entry level workstation called the Z220.  It features next-generation Intel® Core and Intel® Xeon® processors, the latest integrated and discrete professional graphics from Intel, NVIDIA and AMD and four integrated USB 3.0 high-speed ports. The Z220 entry-level workstation is available in a choice of an exceptionally expandable, Convertible Mini-Tower (CMT) or a highly compact Small Form Factor (SFF) that’s 65 percent smaller.


Both Z220 workstation models offer an array of processor choices from the new Intel Xeon processor E3-1200 v2 family and third-generation Intel Core processor family.  They also offer a selection of mid-range to high-end discrete graphics cards from NIVIDIA and AMD as well as up to 32GB of 1600 DDR3 memory in either ECC or non-ECC formats.

HP EliteBook 8570w

They also announced the HP EliteBook w-series.  These Mobile Workstations offer a combination of high-performance features and graphics in a business-rugged design, featuring next-generation Intel Core™ i7 quad-core or i7 or i5 dual-core processors and up to 32 GB of system memory.

These EliteBooks come in three models:  the 8470w, the 8570w, and the 8770w.  The 8770w offers the highest performance specs and comes with a 17.3 inch display.  The 8570w has a 15.6 inch display while the 8470w has a 14 inch display.  Each of these EliteBooks comes in a magnesium aluminum chassis, a radial-brushed display cover, glass touchpads and aluminum-alloy hinges.  They meet the tough military standards (MIL-STD-810G) for dust, vibration, shock, altitude, drop, high temperature, low temperature, and temperature shock.  They should be quite durable on the job site or in the field.


PRICING
Quad-core setups of the HP Z220 start at $699 making it a lower end workstation and more affordable.  The HP EliteBook 8770w, 8570w, 8470w Mobile Workstations start at $1,699, $1,449, and $1,329
Respectively and are expected to be available at the end of June 2012.
